Haven't played here in 15 years and needed to rate one of the last of the 21 golf courses here in Jackson County.
Could only play 9 holes ($10/walking) because of rain so I chose the Back 9 "Blues" because it plays 3,320 yds / 70.3 and is longer than the original Front 9 @ 2,715 yds. Starting off with two (2) par 5's gets things going pretty quick as #10 (dogleg left) seem to be the tougher/shorter of the two.
Tee boxes are in great condition with the fairways green, but spotty in areas. All sprinkler heads are marked and good 100/150/200 markers mixed in also. The greens were in great condition being soft and held all shots coming in.
Par 3's had a nice "Yardage Post" with today's distance to the pin, very nice. The #3 par 4 is one tough 2nd shot (150 - 170yds) to an almost island green that had me missing short for a water penalty shot, double bogey. Both par 3's play 200 / 210 yds so there's no gimme coming from them.
Really liked the layout shooting 41 / 16putts and will return to play the shorter front someday soon. Senior weekend rates are $29.00 for 18/cart playing a "Home Grown" local built course with a very challenging Back 9 that will make you forget about the short warm-up Front 9.
